MYFOXNY.COM - The first snow flakes are expected to land on the tristate region beginning at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday.
The south shore of Long Island and southern New Jersey is forecast to get up to three inches of snow.
The core of the tristate region could see up to five inches of snow.
And, northern sections of New Jersey including Morris, Sussex and Passaic counties could have more than five inches of snow on the ground once the storm clears out by Sunday.
Moderate snow is forecasted for the Hudson Valley and northern sections of New Jersey.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for southern Nassau County where up to five inches of snow is expected along with ice on Saturday.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Rockland County.
