Because sampling/using an old unkown song for inspiration is smart because NO ONE KNOWS IT...

Using something new would be rubbish, because you would be doing the same thing someone already did

But the vocal stylings Lana uses are much more similar to the altos and smoky voices of old Hollywood.

The ONLY part of this melody that is similar to Video Games is the first part of the phrase, which as I said earlier, is a major third interval. Its pretty inevitable that multiple people would use it. The Greek singer doesn't go as low after it as Lana does for the "whistlin' my name" part.

Sorry, but using the same extremely common interval does not a "theft" make.
