Exactly. Communism isn't really taught in the schools here either, but I think we know more about it because we had the first democratically elected Marxist president in the world. But then the CIA came and made a conspiracy against him. Thanks to America we had 17 years of military dictatorship.

Even if Marxism was spreading here, it would just be a wave and would eventually fade out. These waves have come and gone throughout time. The hippies had their riots during their heyday, and the hipsters are spreading their own counterculture today. These things happen; I'm unbothered.

It's important to blame the politicians and not the people though. A lot of these things are only coming to light for the public recently.

I'm not American btw, I'm Irish. I spend a lot of time there though my fianceé is American so I'm fairly sure in what I'm talking about however I do get it wrong sometimes.

You would see full blown riots if the internet were to shut down. We live in a digital age now, and this new generation rely on the internet. We would have to go back to the old school ways.

Do you not think there has to be a reason behind the continuing so called Marxist waves? These sorts of uprisings are often quelled by the government and the apparent unhappiness of the public surely means something, the system needs to alter itself to keep the majority of people in the states happy rather than the select few. I've seen what it's like for people with minimum wage jobs, the government does **** all to help and that isn't right, the economy is devastated at the moment and rather than pouring tax payers money into helping the tax payer it's going to war, war research and other such monstrosities that do nothing for the public.

I don't know anyone who would start sleeping with everyone in sight if they lost ****. They'd sooner go to the adult video store.

I'm just saying that some people were overreacting, like this has never happened before. It's a typical cycle. What our country needs is another FDR, who is ethically and morally stable and can successfully make the biggest impact in the shortest period of time.

As Bea said, a full scale war would erupt if the internet was shut down. Trying to restrict it wih SOPA and PIPA is already ruffling a lot of feathers, no democratic government would even try it.
