listen listeeen yo. what you need to realise here is that being overly "self conscious about looks" as he put it basically means that our culture is generally speaking obsessed with looks.
for instance, many men with eating disorders turn out to be gay. it is NOT a rule, but the numbers don't lie.
what i am trying to say is that you can see more fat, hairy, smelly straight than gay men. cos they don't care as much as we do.
