Now, after 16 weeks at #1 and 6 million sold in the U.S. alone, the release continues to sit astride the HITS Top 50, with another 107k, more than twice the total of its nearest challenger, sixstepsrecords/Sparrow/EMI Christian cult act David Crowder Band’s Give Us Rest…, which debuts at #2 with 42k.
Nonesuch’s The Black Keys (#3), YM/CM/Universal Republic’s Drake (#4) and new entry, Island/IDJ’s Snow Patrol (#5), round out the Top 5.
Def Jam/IDJ’s Young Jeezy (#6) and Rihanna (#7) give Steve Bartels’ Team Island three in the Top 7, while Roadrunner’s Nickelback (#8), Capitol/EMI’s Coldplay (#9) and Now 40 (#10) round out the leader board, with the latter two giving EMI three in the Top 10.
Other newcomers include RCA’s Yo Gotti (#14), Interscope’s controversial Lana Del Rey EP (#19), Watertower Music’s Joyful Noise soundtrack (#20), Controlled Substance’s Rebelution (#25), Roadrunner’s Nightwish (#31) and Ultra’s techno DJ Steve Aoki (#43).
Wind-up’s Evanescence (#39) and Nonesuch’s Black Keys Brothers album (#44) both re-enter the Top 50.
RCA’s Anthony Hamilton (#27-16, +5%), Warner Bros.’ Common (#46-37, +3%), 19/RCA’s Kelly Clarkson (#16-11) and Show Dog’s Toby Keith (#18-12) all showed upward mobility.
