This should probably go in the blog section, but I've needed help for this for at least a month or two now, so any help would be appreciated.

I've been using a new computer (Laptop) and when I try to sync my iPod to get new music, it doesn't work. Not only does iTunes not recognize the device, neither does my computer. I've even gone to the extents of the device manager and the iPod is not displayed. I know this isn't a faulty USB port or extensive security as my phone plugs in just fine. So, please, HELP!

Is Apple Mobile Device started under Services?

It's an iPod Classic, so no. Sorry for not including that bit in the OP!

Then never mind. I'm not the best helper.

Reset your iPod. Hold the center button and the menu part at the same time until the screen shuts off and the apple logo comes up.

Then try plugging it in. It should work.

Once it works and your computer recognizes it, do a factory restore. You'll have to resync everything, but it should completely solve the issue

Try putting it in disk mode first, and then connecting it

Already did both of these multiple times, neither one worked.

Oh. In that case, it looks like you have a 200$ Apple brand paperweight.

This happened to me before. Don't remember how I fixed it but try

1) windows key>search>services
2) expand services (local)
3) look for apple mobile device, click stop, and then start again

take it to an Apple store. maybe they will know what's wrong with your ipod.
