Oh yeah, whatever you get the Battery life is going to be shorter than your Blackberry. The newer blackberrys are slightly shorter than the previous generations but they are probably still longer than higher end Android and iPhones.
Tbh the best solution is to go into the store and play around with phones and decide what OS you like best. I absolutley hate BB OS, and iOS is too basic, bland and lacks customization, but others love it.
Just go into the store play around the the phones and pick one you like. Just make sure you don't cheap out. Get something good since you will be stuck with it for 2 years. I can't at people thinking they are getting some good deal by getting a horrible phone that they are going to hate in 4 months just to save $100, then have to be stuck with it for 2 years
