I'm not a big fan of either. But, after listening to Bionic, Gaga had NOTHING to do with it flopping.

Desnudate could had done very well and woohoo probably as well

But I believe gaga had nothing to do with it

I think it was the quality of the music in Bionic that lead to the flop, but it had pretty decent tracks on it as well

It mainly had to do with Perez.He went on the whole *insert pejorative here "-tina crusade.Unfortunately,Christina didn't help her case because many of the Gaga stans overexaggerated "She's fun to look at" as shade.

I HIGHLY doubt this had to deal with the conspiracy theory her stans tend to bring up.

Bad promo. Period.

I think it was a mix of things, but not Gaga personal, more the friends and people behind her, I Think


WRONG BRANDING & CHANGING CONCEPT
- Christina has talked about the album for a long time as "short and sweet" and with a more futuristic approach and influence. Then she did Burlesque and for some reason, her label found it a good idea to record pretty much around an album of sexy mainstream songs and made the album into a long album which was a mix between an more alternative futuristic album and a mainstream, tad dated album with sexual songs. With the most fresh sounding and overall alternative songs pushed to the deluxe version/

- The album's image and overall artwork also became pretty much sexual rather than futuristic which also gave the wrong image and with teh fist single, which I still love and the sexual videow ith it, it made it all complete.

Gaga +Press + Radio
- For some reason several blogs, including Perez blog, began to give her a sort of backlash of talking bad about Gaga which resulted in a overall negative flow around the net for the whole project, the bad thing was that blogs began to say Christina copied Gaga in the NMT video which made it all even more messier. All those stories also got picked up by tabloids and media news programms worldwide.

- For some reason it looked like Christina got no support on radio anymore, not much happened with Not Myself Tonight and I heard some radio stations even just ignored it, like they never gave it a real chance

- though I still think some shady things have happened with radio, media and other people against Christina

Overall
It seems like her label ruined the original concept of the album, by allowing or pressuring to include 2 albums in one, the wrong image that wa sgiven didn't helped either, beside that she got a media backlash and also had personal issues (that divorce didn't came out of the air, right?). A lot of the press didn't gave the album a chance and I also do not think much people gave it a chance, which resulted in a underperforming album, which could ahve done good with a few different descisions and a more fitting image and artwork. And she may could have done some more promo also.

The backlash from that was exaggerated by the stan community. Bionic flopped for other reasons.
