Americana is the real country imo, and Pop-Country is the mainstream country what the public say as 'country music'.
Oh, I think Taylor should just invent her own genre, since she really is a mix between rock/pop/country/indie.

I want to agree with you about Americana but if you look back to what bluegrass is with the banjos, bass, fiddle, and the acoustic guitar it to me seems to be influenced by jazz lol now let me explain when jazz first started you'd have all these groups who'd play as best they possibly could on each instrument like piano, trumpet, electric guitar, harmonica, etc. It really came out of jazz in fact if you look back at some of the early jazz bands they bare a stricking resemblance to many bluegrass bands today. Besides that I found this on wikipedia (yes I know) about how bluegrass originated.
Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, and a sub-genre of country music. It has mixed roots in Scottish, English,[1] Welsh[citation needed] traditional music. Bluegrass was inspired by the music of immigrants residing in Appalachia[citation needed], and was influenced by the music of African-Americans[2] through incorporation of jazz elements.
Ok my long history lesson is over

now on to how I feel about Americana the main thing I like about it is the emotion its very easy to feel and connect which is something I like in my music and why I love Taylor
