When people like MJ, Madonna, and even artists like Gaga and Britney were at their peaks, the public interest in them was sooooo extreme.
This is what I believe is holding Adele back.
I am not denying that the public obviously loves her since they are buying her songs and albums like crazy. But when people talk about artists today, Adele rarely gets more than a brief mention in conversations.
Adele may be inescapable on the radio, but in typical conversations, she is no where to be found. Pop stars like Gaga and Katy, for example, get far more attention.
If Adele gets to the point where the public is obsessed with her to the point that they can't stop thinking and talking about her, then she would have it all.

That's not the type of artist she is. She is successful purely for putting out great music.
Isn't that what the music industry should be about? Pop is a different ballpark, but this is music in general. I respect Adele more than them for simply putting out a great album, not outdated or modern. Just great music.
