The very moment we began to listen to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” for the first time, we couldn’t help but notice it sounded incredibly similar to Madonna’s 1989 hit “Express Yourself”. As it turns out, Madonna noticed it, too.
When reporter Jacob Bernstein asked the pop star about her thoughts on Gaga’s single for an upcoming Newsweek piece, she replied:
“This is a wonderful way to redo my song ["Express Yourself"]. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was… interesting.”
You'd think someone at her level would remain completely unbothered by such silliness, but I guess not.
She has nothing left to prove, she's achieved more success that only few can match or best. Why is she pressed by Gaga, of all people? She should consider it an honor that she's still relevant for someone like Gaga to be influenced by her.
1. This shade isn't even good. This is what everybody has been saying from Day 1. She can do better then this.
2. If she's really arrogant enough to think she innovated those chords... I don't even..
3. As somebody else said, shouldn't she be honored to have influenced the Worlds Biggest Popstar as of late?
