I don't think anyone should have gotten mad by madonnas comments. She already stated her liking for gaga. They even had dance battles together at the club.

Madonna knows what's she's doing. She's only giving you the respond y'all want to hear. Madonna knows what Contraversy sales, so that's what she's giving you guys. Lighten up.

Everyone can discuss these things in Madonna's Base thread and SYG, anyway. It's not as if we're out of options...

So is it really too hard for a mod to say "This thread is getting out of hand, keep it civil or take it to SYG," before squashing discussion entirely?

And, when a mod decides it's not worth the trouble, is it too much for them to say, "Sorry, this thread has devolved into nothing but flamebait and stan wars. It's being closed."

I mean, the little bar at the top says "More details might be available in the last post of the thread." I've never seen more details in the last post, the thread always just gets shut down.

But did you see the part where Madonna's Base Thread has like 1/6th of the views this one did? No one knows it's there, and no one visits. This thread got people talking.

Sometimes I do leave a final note.

You could have just explained that without the condescending "It was breaking all of the rules. Duh." post. Really unprofessional.

The thread was 100 posts away from being the fourth-most discussed thread on the site in the past week, an hour after it'd been opened. It's clearly something people want to discuss. If you want to keep it civil, I don't see the point of forcing it to SYG, where people won't be as interested and will be more vicious.

You would think multiple warnings given to the people causing problems would do the trick. They know the rules.

Isn't that second point a bit obvious? Some mods choose to offer an explanation for closing a thread; others don't. Usually, it's not very hard to figure out.

It's not like it's the be all, end all of the discussion. As Eli referenced, Stand Your Ground is opened and waiting.

Why would you want to do all that shading, flamebaiting, and trolling in an area where you actually get warned for it.

You would think they'd be happy to move to SYG and not get punched out the game over and over.
