At the PCA's, Rihanna won Best R&B Artist, and I think by now everyone can agree that she's a pop artist with a few traces of R&B influence, so Twitter decided to educate the People's Choice Awards of their opinions on the matter.

She's only considered R&B because she makes pop music with urban influences, and, while I hate to say it, because she's black. It's the way it is.

What about Beyonce, she is claimed to be R&B but she constantly got nomination in pop. Rihanna is still very R&B, she usually releases pop singles but most of the tracks on her albums are r&b

They're extremely different, but the comparisons will never end because they're both black females doing it big in the music industry. It's terribly unfortunate, but, c'est la vie, I suppose.

Not at all. 
Beyoncé IS R&B and Pop. 4 is R&B, IASF was Pop, and the ones before were both. Rihanna is basically all Pop.

That reminds of when Itunes placed one of Santigold's singles in the R&B category. There's definitely some underlying racism going on when you're confining artists to a certain genre based on their race.

All the singles from IASF are pop songs with R&B influence. Some songs are even pure pop ( if I were a boy, broken-hearted girl, halo, sweat dream)

Beyonce is an R&B-based artist. IASF was her most pop-influenced album, yes, but even it still managed to incorporate a hefty amount of urban and R&B sounds.
Rihanna's discography is comprised of pop music with influences included from dance, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, rock, etc. Her basis is always pop, though.

WHAT IS POP? Popular? Has to sound light and fluffy? Rihanna has Rhythm & Blues all over LOUD & TTT. She's never been a one genre artist.
