Most people I know (including myself) actually dislike him but I will say this. I think his fan-base has actually deteriorated and reached its peak back somewhere through 2010. I think he is taking himself way too seriously. He is almost 18. You need to live a little and have fun. That doesn't mean you have to have sex and do drugs, but I feel as though he is too caught up in the general public's perception of him. He doesn't want people to think that he is capable of spiraling out of control. Notice how long he tried to keep his relationship with Selena a secret? He never admitted to it until it became blatantly obvious. He is too self-conscious. People will respect him more if he just stays true. It's like he is hiding behind something like it's a threat to his career when most of the public don't care.

I still don't think he'll last much longer. The fads already dying out. The problem with teen stars like Justin is that their fanbases are normally little girls. Those little girls like him because at their age it's normal. However, once they get older, liking boy bands and popstars is no longer cool, so they move on. The only way Bieber will stick around is if he finds a way to appeal to the older audience and not just girls. I don't think that's possible, though. It's "uncool" to like him and that's never going to change.

With that said, I like the kid. I respect him as an artist and as a person. Any celebrity that uses their fame to better the world is a-OK in my book.

IDK how old you are, but if you are older then 18, than the songs are obviously not going to be memorable to you, because you are not part of the young pop audience. Those songs are memorable for young pop fans of this generation. I'm 20, and not part of that generation, but I have 8 nieces and nephews and I can see how they look up to Justin, just like I looked up to Ncync and Destiny's Child. The only difference is time.

I beg to differ. I'm 20 as well, but those songs were universal and huge hits. Everybody frm age 5 to 80 knew that song not just the 8 year olds. Sure it's what they will remember, but there were far bigger hits around for them to grasp on to.

If anything the ONLY song Justin has so far that crossed generations as those songs did back in the late 90's and early 2000's would be his song BABY. It seemed that song attracted many listeners across age demographics.

Well, that's mostly because he's only had one mainstream hit, not because the music is limited to one age group. Both of his My Worlds albums were well-received by critics. There's definitely some Michael Jackson in My World 2.0, and surely that's appropriate for all ages?
