20 HOT CHELLE RAE feat. NEW BOYZ
"I Like It Like That" Days: 92 Peak: 1(9)
Starting the top 20 list this year is Hot Chelle Rae. Their first of two entries in the chart topped the daily countdown for nine days and eventually reached retirement few days after the last countdown included for this year-ender’s calculation. I am personally glad regarding their decision to focus on producing bubble gum pop sound, though I must admit, I miss their previous sound.
19 MCFLY
"That’s The Truth" Days: 73 Peak: 1(10)
The truth is... McFly scores once again a top 20 hit after their collaboration with Taio Cruz which landed in the 12th spot last year. This song might not reach the retirement status but its number of days at the summit and its longevity inside the top ten is really impressive, hence giving them another decent spot in this year’s chart.
18 FOSTER THE PEOPLE
"Helena Beat" Days: 75 Peak: 1(11)
Winner of Favorite New Artist, Foster The People finds their second entry in the chart in the top 20. As I said earlier, this band has a lot of potential to do even better this 2012. Not only their music, tunes and beats are unique but also their music videos. Expect one more track from this band inside the top ten.
17 SELENA GOMEZ & THE SCENE
"Who Says" Days: 83 Peak: 1(14)
The only thorn among the roses, Selena Gomez makes a top 20 appearance this year. This is a song that topped the countdown for two weeks (14 days) but failed to reach the retirement status. This is Selena’s best song so far in my opinion plus she looks really pretty in the music video. I am likewise impressed with her performance this year in the US music charts.
It's more like she's the only thorn among all the roses
I actually did that intentionally to see if the one who commented in this thread are reading my write-ups. Now, you've noticed it, I will bring it back as an idiomatic expression.
