TAYLOR SWIFT
"SPARKS FLY"
RELEASE DATE: 18 July 2011 BEST PART: The first verse + "Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile"
Country superstar Taylor Swift kicks off the Top 20 with the oldest song off his third album Speak Now. Taylor wrote "Sparks Fly" even before she entered the music industry and I am extremely delighted that she finally decided to record the song for her album. Though the song was not given a proper music video, I was happy with Big Machine's decision to release it as a single. There's one more Taylor Swift song left on the list. But the big question is, will it be 2011's #1? Will Taylor score a three-peat?

KERI HILSON
"PRETTY GIRL ROCK"
RELEASE DATE: 12 October 2010 BEST PART: "Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful, don't hate me cause I'm beautiful"
Another shocker, I guess. Keri Hilson returns to the list with a feminine anthem off her sophomore album. I can still remember that this was the first song I really got hooked into last year. I love the great R&B vibe and confident feel of the song. Looking forward to hear more like this from Keri this 2012.

BEYONCE
"BEST THING I NEVER HAD"
RELEASE DATE: 1 June 2011 BEST PART: The bridge until the end
R&B royalty Beyonce makes her final appearance on the list with the second single off her fourth album 4. I felt extremely relieved that Beyonce picked a more impressive follow up to "Run The World (Girls)". Aside from the revengeful lyrics, I am impressed with Beyonce's vocals especially during the bridge and the fade. Sadly, Beyonce missed my Yearender Top Ten for the first time.

JESSIE J
"NOBODY'S PERFECT"
RELEASE DATE: 20 April 2011 BEST PART: Everything
Shocker? Maybe. Jessie J appears for the third time on the list with a pop-rock hit off her debut album. I first ignored "Nobody's Perfect" cause I didn't find it as appealing, as catchy, and as lively as "Price Tag". My bad! I just started to appreciate this song last month and I suddenly became a fan of it. The vocals were damn impressive. The delivery was outstanding.

TRAIN
"MARRY ME"
RELEASE DATE: 25 October 2010 BEST PART: The cheesiness overload
Shocking? Most likely. Being inclined into pop music, who would have thought a Train song would be in the Top 20? "Marry Me" may not have captured my ears initially but it grew on me a lot until it was able to capture not just my ears, but also my heart. Despite being cheesy, I really find the song romantic and sincere. Funny but I always picture someone proposing to his girlfriend whenever I listen to this song.
