The TCA Winter 2012 tour has been going on the past few days and thought I'd update everyone with some of the news to come out of it
Today was NBC executive session where they talked about some of their new shows and current shows. I'll update with news I think you all will find interesting
Law & Order: SVU
Bob Greenblatt reaffirms that Mariska Hargitay isn't leaving SVU, may be getting a real love interest on the show.
Harry Connick Jr. will be on for four episodes of SVU.
Community
Greenblatt notes Community isn't canceled, said they should have been more clear about that in the midseason PR.
Greenblatt says he doesn't know if Community will lead off a night, but they have a tight schedule, depends on what fails.
30 Rock
If 30 Rock is renewed, Alec Baldwin will remain on the show.
Prime Suspect
At Showtime, he says Prime Suspect would have been picked up for a new season by the third episode.
Greenblatt affirms Prime Suspect is his biggest disappointment - liked creatively, audience just didn't respond.
Smash
"I think Smash is going to be very important to us," he says. Adding that it's not a make or break it situation.
Comcast customers will be able to watch the Smash pilot beginning January 16th on Xfinity. Details are still be worked out, may expand beyond that.
The Voice
Greenblatt says he would have been happy with a 3.0 or a high 2 rating for The Voice, that it blew up was a surprise.
Greenblatt reveals The Voice season will run 15 weeks.
Playboy Club
"I think Playboy Club was just a rejected concept," Greenblatt says about the show's failure.
Fear Factor
Greenblatt notes they have additional episodes of Fear Factor, potentially for the summer.
Fashion Star
Producers of Fashion Star say the show is already in the can, was filmed in July and August of the past year.
Ben Silverman says he can't think of a better time period for Fashion Star than after Biggest Loser.
Golden Globes
Greenblatt says he thinks HFPA unanimously voted to bring back Ricky Gervais for the Golden Globes, so no hesitation on choice.
Pilots for the 2012-2013 season
Greenblatt says they're putting out a release about their five pilots, with more pickups coming next week.
NBC as a whole
Greenblatt notes he's open to doing shorter seasons, some shows don't benefit from 22 episodes over 9 months.
re: Ryan Seacrest joining The Today Show: "It is premature."
