But with 6 albums.
Kelly Clarkson has 5 albums and has sold 23-24 million. Rihanna may not be a singles artist per say, but her singles to albums ratio is significantly big.

Does anyone have a fuller list? Top ten isn't much, I'd like to see the top 20 and beyond if possible.

That's because she sells a lot of singles , and not because she sells few albums

Making her a singles artist
When you're selling that many singles but moving the same amount of albums as someone with less single success, you are a singles artist. It's not a bad thing per se but let's call a spade a spade.

Quite a few artist, actually. Maybe not single-wise, but that just proves even more that Rih is a singles artist.
Originally, the point of singles were to sell your albums. But when your singles do a poor job at selling the album, and instead sell themselves to such a huge degree, you are a singles artist. I knew the Navy was a little behind, but this isn't exactly rocket science

Yes, she is in the US, but that's it.
As long as she doesn't flop I would be very fine.

lol
just because your fave cannot sell singles doenst make Rihanna a singles artist.
Last time I checked... Rihanna had sold more albums than your fave WW... and last time I checked her current single is still #1 WW and that makes it her 9th week atop.
Which makes you mad. I get it. -But life's like this... aha.. that's the way it is...- (as Avril would say.)

Their projections look the same too me. Except that Rihanna's singles should've had a bigger impact on her album sales, yet they didn't.
Done here.

She just released TTT, so she will be at 30 million with 6 albums ,sweetie.

It's good to know that you are defining the terms "singles artist" and "album arist". And I don't get why you are so pressed about Riri success. She being successful doesn't mean that your fave isn't too.

more like 20M worldwide... and more than half of those sales are from one album...
how is that having the same projection as Rihanna's sales? BTW... Rihanna is at 26M and her recent era just begun.

I neve said Rih wasn't successful. And I even said being a singles artist isn't a bad thing.
She sells a massive amount of singles compared to the albums she moves. Thus, she's a singles artist. The only ones "pressed" pressed here are the Rihanna fans who insist on taking the term "singles artist" as a negative thing.

IF she didnt sell albums THEN she would be a singles artist.

The only artists that currently have massive album sales are Adele and Buble (and may be Drake). Does this mean that every other artist is a singles artist?

It's not about not being able to sell a massive amount of albums, it's about your single sales totally eclipsing your album sales.

If you sell albums as much as the others and your singles are doing beyond great, what can be said about the artist with the lower single sales?
