Not only does his bible condone polygamy, this is a ridiculous strawman argument. Absolutely absurd for him to think he's being logical or rational. We're talking about two people -- not three people. Polygamy becomes a deceitful attempt to get tax benefits. If three people sincerely want to be married, so be it, but they shouldn't have a triad civil union. That's not what a civil union is. Besides, histrionically, polygamy has been outlawed as a result from oppression. The women involved with polygamist relationships have often been forced into it without their consent.

I believe we should recognize the marriage licenses of multiple people but the issue is infinitely more complex and is for another day.
