Why is everybody worshipping Christina?

As reported to today Billboard 200 sum total, Hands All Over has sold so far 917000 copies.

But just yesterday Adam Levine tweeted that HAO has gone platinum, meaning probably that the SHIFTED copies are already over 1.000.000.
By all signs, HAO should cross the 1000000 bar as of copis sold by the end of February.

I'm glad because it's a truly underrated record, and although I think MLJ is a very funny and happy song (a worldwide smash too), somehow I am angry it took a song as "easy and fun" to sell an album which has on way better songs in it.

I'm sure Adam doesn't mind which source is making him richer though. His royalties as composer keep on piling, regardeless.

I can't wait for new music from both M5 and Christina though.

It's time to mover over this undeniable smash and get back to work new material.

This Love, She Will Be Loved and Makes Me Wonder all topped charts everywhere.

Christina didn't take MLJ anywhere differently the song would have gone on its own anyway.
Its beat it's unescapable, and the song regularly rose up in sales hugely any single time it was performed live in broadcasts, and all of these times it was performed without Christina.

She adds a great voice.
But they could have featured anyone else and the song would have still smashed.
It's the beat.
It's addicting.

The same goes for Stereo Hearts chorus.
When Adam Levine goes purely pop (as much as I dislike his full pop-ishness then) he creates unescapable hooks/melodies that stick in you, that you gotta buy, and that in the end make charts.

If any, it's the Voice exposure that gave limelight to MLJ.
But the break in sustained by a perfectly commercial song structure, or its staying power wouldn't have been so consistent.

wow Its crazy how it can take just 1 song to smash the way this song did to move so many copies. Before The Voice the album stalled at 400k and 3 singles. And now is gonna pass platinum.

Ok, Christina has nothing to do about the sucess of this single. And, still, the song sucks really hard, they doesnt't deserve the #1.

I hate how people try to discredit Christina in the success of this song because she isn't in it that long. I mean lets be honest her fan base did have a big part in this. I remember when this song was announced and when it first premiered a lot of her fans were promoting MLJ. Also have you heard Adam sing Christina's part it sound horrible.

I think there were three factors in the success of MLJ. The Voice, Christina, and Maroon 5. Lets be honest without any of the three it wouldn't have smashed. The Voice helped Promote it. Christina and Maroon 5 weren't doing well before this song Christina's bionic and Maroon 5's Hands all over me.
