Even if it does become a hit in the next few months, the meltdown that happened after it didn't shoot straight to #1 when the music video was released was so extreme and over the top. Rihanna has loads of songs flop and her fans are just like "lol what's her next single then?".
I did think the fact that Marry the Night wasn't even in the top 1000 on iTunes for ages after being sent to radio was a sign it wouldn't smash majorly. Post-album songs that become big hits usually never leave the iTunes top 1000.
