It didn't flop, she was blacklisted on radio. In addition, her stupid label released a 12-inch single (which managed to sell 80,000 copies) instead of a competitive regular CD single. It sold 490,000 digital copies, which is massive for a 2001 single.
There was no chance anyway. She was banned on radio anyway, that's why Slave and all other singles flopped.
