I couldn't have said it better myself. That's why I listed the big three separately on my year-end. I just didn't feel right with 'Femme Fatale' making it to the top 40. The rest of the album grates. But the big three = FIRE.

I agree when I watch the In The Dark video, I was like "BITCH THE **** IS YEW DOING? YOU GETTIN HIV FROM THE HANDS.". But yeah, I like the song.

I guess I'll be the devil's advocate and argue that "Criminal" is easily better than any of the first three singles.

| 04. Drive & Tron Legacy: Reconfigured
Builds Finalized: September 27, 2011 & April 5, 2011
- Totally my favorite soundtracks of the year. In fact, it’s a tie because they actually made up different parts of my year. Ever since I saw Drive, I have been in love with the music. Well, before Drive, Tron, the original and remixed soundtracks, kept me going towards a more electronic focus for the year. Most of my nights consisted of something from an electronic-based Pandora station, haha. The music worked so well for their corresponding movies; I would actually say Tron soundtrack was more appreciated by me than the movie (Come on, Daft Punk!) so it helped me a lot but Drive was definitely, definitely on par with the soundtrack. It was perfect. Oh, did I mention “Nightcall” features Lovefoxxx from CSS? Yeah, check it out already! She sounds amazing on it!
Crucial Units: "Fall (Remixed by M83 vs. Big Black Delta)" & “Nightcall” | |
05. CSS - La Liberacion
Build Finalized: August 22, 2011
- Oh my gosh, I LOVE CSS. Somehow, I have only grown to love them more over the years. The concert last year only helped. My god, they were AMAZING. I think “City Grrrl” was my favorite song from the set but at that time, the song wasn’t really out so I couldn’t find it anywhere online. Then again, honestly, the performance actually made it tons better… without Ssion, haha. Lovefoxxx actually started it off complaining about how people think too much about what a girl wears and I just wish I had more people like that in my life. Both special units are singles because, honestly, I just remember the live version whenever I hear them, haha. It’s been a good, busy, growing year and this album just reminds me of that.
Crucial Units: “Hits Me Like A Rock” and “City Grrrl”

06. Oh Land - Oh Land
Build Finalized: March 14, 2011
- Last year, I fell in love with “Son of a Gun” and was excited for her album. Then, I forgot about her because I am great at forgetting, haha. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Spotify radio, I would have not realized her album finally came out. Then, “White Lights” just added to it by having a cute video that worked well with the cute song. It’s just a very pleasant voice to hear and the music works well with it.
Crucial Units: “White Nights” and “We Turn it Up” |

Ke! Another great set!
I like how you have the soundtracks to both Drive and Tron Legacy in the same position. They are quite similar, in certain ways, and both are certainly fantastic. Plus, it's fun to see Gosling from Drive meet the Tron people in your image! Really nice stuff.
I haven't heard the latest CSS album, but I have liked songs from them in the past. I'll keep those Cruical Units in my YouTube bookmarks. Thanks for the links! And Oh Land sounds good, too. I mean, how can you go wrong with pleasant voices??? Answer: you can't!
Great stuff.
