Christina Milian compared to Beyonce!
Christina Milian has hit out at critics who claim her image is copied from fellow singer Beyonce Knowles. The sexy 24-year-old insists she has never been inspired by the Destiny's Child star and claims the comparison is only made because they share similar physical features.
Speaking to AllHipHop.com she rants, "Do people think that every light skin black girl that has blonde hair has to say that she wants to be like her? That's not the case. And that's wack, because people don't realise they're stereotyping us. It's unfortunate because I feel like it's ongoing for me. My career has been a thirteen-year process. I didn't even know about her until five years ago. My career, and every move that I make, I try my hardest to set myself apart from everyone else. And I don't even think it's a matter of trying; I am a different person."
She added, "When I make music, I'm not listening to (Beyonce's) music and saying I want to make a song like that or I want to dress like her. Everyone dresses their own way, has their own style. It's sad that people have to make comparisons based on looks. I can be very real with you; in no way, shape, or form have I ever tried to be like anybody else."
She should even be happy that she's being compared to someone as big as Beyonce!

Im happy she said that!! Beyonce is great, of course, but not every artist wants to be like that. Xtina wants to be her, let her be her.

"Dip It Low" was such a "Baby Boy" rip off, and "Whatever U Want" was identical to Beyonce's "Crazy In Love".
Negative comparisons? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Ok, first Beyonce releases the overhyped crapfest of Check On It and now Christina's being compared to her? Who would wanna be compared to Bee anyway?
I thought so Beyonce and Christina each have their own style and having Christina being compared to Bee is just....insulting in a way.

Although I appreciate Christina for wanting to be original...She does seem extremely aware of Beyonce. So does Ashanti, Ciara, and the rest of the current field...Beyonce raised the bar...hands down-from her hair color, to her style, and her dance moves!!! Christina was better in the AM to Pm days anyhoo..this gangsta mami look is not cute....I have the album and I feel she is trying to hard to be ghetto....She is an appealing artist when she is being "herself"!!! As for the comment "I didn't even know about Beyonce until about five years ago" ...well that sounded a bit haterage to me....Everyone has known about Beyonce since from like 1997..which is 9 years agggoo!! Christina had me till she said that....She just needed to simply need to say less than she did..Otherwise, it comes off looking like she is trying too hard!
Food for thought!!

Actually, "Dip It Low" arrived at the same time as "Baby Boi," however, it didn't blow up until the summer of 2004, whereas it was first seen in about February. As for her comparison to Beyonce, I actually think she is better...or different. Originally, before "Say I," she was more pop, while Beyonce was R&B. Anyways, although both are pretty good, I am going to have to add: Christina Milian>>>Beyonce

Christina has been a solo singer for much longer than Beyonce. Remember AM To PM? That was in like 2000 or 2001.

Harsh lol
I prefer Milian. Though I do think Beyonce is more vocally talented, as well as a great writer & producer, Christina stills wins my vote. When it comes to making good albums, I suggest you go to Miliam. All 3 of her of her albums a great. It's often said Beyonce's DIL is filled with filler. Although I don't agree, the album is finished for me after track 8. Milian is the better dancer but Bee is close behind. When it goes down to looks, I prefer Milian, with or without makeup.
It has become hard for an female R&B artist to excel nowadays. It's always assumed that somebody is trying to copy Beyonce. Whether it's Ciara, Milian, Ashanti, Amerie, etc. Even singers who had material long before Beyonce was solo are accused of copying, like Brandy, Monica, Mya, and even Mary J. Blige. It's quite unfair seeing as it's no longer an egual playing field. Before Beyonce, the supreme female R&B/Pop star was Brandy. Back then, R&B fans weren't so annoying and outspoken (or at least it seemed that way). Or maybe R&B fans have become so ghetto that they assume somebody is always trying to steal their favorite artist's shine...?

o.O... I didn't see this post
I wanna comment you by saying that I agree with everything you said in the 2nd paragragh. As a Beyonce fan, it gets EXTREMELY annoying when I see her fans put her up on such a high pedastal. They act as though Beyonce is the alpha and omega of the entire female r&b artist brigade. That everything starts, and ends on Beyonce. Thats why I think it's so hard for some people to like Beyonce, by the way people treat her!

Christina used to have real hair. But any time she's had blonde hair its obviously been either a wig or a weave!
I still like Christina more, hell I like LeToya more than I like Beyonce.

I can't help it.
Beyonce is just so good. She's sexy, makes good music (Mike ), has been around for a while, has an awesome voice, and is ovbiously more talented than half of the music industry. It's hard for me not to love her, because, she's just so perfect . But I agree that people shouldn't compare artists like Brandy <3, Monica <3, Mya <3, Mary J. Blige <3, to her.

Yeah...I think we should stop comparing everyone to Beyonce, just as everyone compares female pop singers to Britney Spears.
