Robbie Williams has said that he wants to become known as the world's greatest performer.
The Take That singer expressed hope that his forthcoming ninth studio album - recently described as his best record yet - and an accompanying tour will allow him to achieve the goal.
Williams told The Mirror: "It's very important for me to feel like I am competing, more so than ever. I haven't wanted to go out there and be the best in the world since 2005.
"I am looking forward to going out on tour, doing promo and kicking arse. Someone has to be the best in the world right now and I want to aim for that, and if I don't make it I want to be somewhere near it. This year will be the best year of my life."
Williams said that he is also hoping to make improvements in his personal life and become a "better husband" to wife of 16 months Ayda Field.
"I want to be a better husband. I want to be a better guy and I want to be as happy as I can be," he said. "I also wanna get really fit next year... [and] look the best popstar I can look at that time."
Williams confirmed in October that his latest album would be released under a new deal with Universal.
It was miss-quoted by digitalspy not me if that is the case.
So you didn't read it?
Well I don't believe it's real since its The Mirror, but even if it was all he is saying is that that is what he aims towards, which is what every pop singer should be doing, no one should settle.
well he didnt say that line in the title of this thread.
and Robbie is a great example of somebody who doesnt need the states. He is huge everywhere else and most of his albums sell around 7-8 million. His huge arena tours sell out in minutes. Indeed, the reason he lives in LA is because he likes the anonymity there. I dont think he's ever really tried hard to be huge in America tbh.
Mess at all you guys. Robbie's return to Take That gave them the fastest selling album of the 21st century in UK and their tour smash harder because of him. When y'all fave band/group ever?
He doesn't need America if he's that relevant in the U.K. Let's not, guys.
Well.... I need some males to slay my life now considering:
1. Justin Timberlake ain't slaying nobody's lives now...
2. Usher isn't doing nothing new IMO
So I am ready...

I mean, people think because he doesn't go to America he's a flop. He's sold a hell of a lot more albums than most of our faves, so
