Yes child. He said "dupstep influences". Hilarious....

So? The person he quoted obviously believes HIAM & Britney are responsible for the surge of dubstep among mainstream artists.

Jessie J's opinion and Beyoncé wasn't the point of the thread, it was Jessie J saying that she was influenced by Britney and Madonna, and those stans rushing here to "Oh hell no, she didn't influence anyone, may I remind her lip sync and her lack of involvement in her work and ****?!" and the typical stuff.

Where is the source, and why is ATRL the first place to come up when you search the article on Google? And Beyoncé's name being in the title says otherwise.

I just noticed (1) she included Beyonce in that list and (2) she put her own name in there as if she's up there with the women influenced by Madonna and Britney

And she isn't part of the reason? Let's be real, how many mainstream/pop acts were using dupstep in their songs and made them hits?
If dance music becomes popular, thank Gaga, if pop artists start using dupstep, saying that it was a Britney song that made it somewhat popular in mainstream music is a blasphemy?

Britney has extremely iconic hits from her first 2 albums. BOMT, Sometimes, Oops, Stronger, Lucky etc....and beyonce?? and dont come with that sex symbol crap when Beyonce was shaking her butt against a wall on crazy in love and was practically naked on the Baby boy video
|
First I should mention Dangerously In Love is perched in the Hall of Fame's Most Definitive Albums with not one Britney album to be found. It also got Bey 5 Grammy's, and produced one of the most acclaimed songs of last decade.
Leaving out DC impact, ever since Bey exploded on the scene the idea of Urban Pop became a successful venture for record labels whereas before it had been laughed at since artists like Ashanti had failed to make urban pop seem credible due to lack of fan support and innovation. This made it so new artists of African American descent could branch out into pop music and be successful. Rihanna exemplifies that.
Part of the reason so many new urban pop artists are compared to Beyonce is because she is the Urban Pop model, if an artist wants to be a successful urban pop artist then they follow the Beyonce formula. Beyonce is now a brand and when people say her name they are not just talking about the woman, they are talking about the voice, the look, the influences, the persona, the relationship, the glamour.
Unfortunately, Britney's name and legacy have become stigmatized by the lows in her life and her music doesn't speak loudly enough to drown that out. Not saying Beyonce's music is next level ****, but it continues to grow and she continues to gain credibility as an artist from critics, her fans, the public, and the industry.

all for one song (crazy in love) and one grammy was won with a song that she used from the previous DC album. this actually proves my point even more.

The problem is that the "typical stuff" is the MINIMUM a pop star should have in order to deserve all the praises... What's the point of influencing a generation when everything you did was planned by a whole team behind you? Or when you can't even sing your **** outside a recording booth?
Anyone can influence someone else... but it is not always in a good way...

Can't say I'm surprised a few members in a certain stan base used this thread to hype up their fave...typical. Any way, that was nice of Jessie to say. She's a great talent and shows love to her peers.
