I think when last Friday night was remixed and discounted I thought the era was a mess and now it's a bigger mess with this remix but before LFN her success was deserved
Gaga survived the BTW era and still became the 3rd highest selling albums artist and the 6th highest selling singles artist this year despite putting out music that isn't current. She got that success mainly due to her HUGE stanbase. So, speaking to the few Katy stans that exist, you better pray that Katy doesn't put out an album that faced the same struggles that BTW did because she will suffer and will certainly not be getting them Top 10s ;-)
How can you say moving from GOSPEL music to Dirty Pop music is not forced?
She clearly wanted to become famous and she has worked with everyone to achieve that dream.

Katy is more successful in my opinion because she's maybe more in the radar than KC. Kelly is just too down to earth and people now are just not used to it anymore. I don't think image is the issue. People say Kelly's too fat, people say Katy's too skinny, so whateva on that case.

So? If Peacock wasn't on the album it probably would have 10 point more. It's an improvement from OOTB. Critics have been a lot nicer to her since Firework, so we'll see how her next album does.
CG just went #1 because its the first single obv. Its forgettable
TD is forgettable too tbh

Objectively, CG was a huge radio hit & was selling 300K per week at one point. TD was also selling 175-250K when it hit #1. Both went #1 on the HDS Chart.

Her cultural impact is so huge that even after 10000 performances and 10 hours long music video her single struggles in top 30 (not to mention that that single is very commercial)
