" Heartbeat"

Just like Boomerang, this song actually grew on me instantly. It immediately skyrocketed inside the top 5 in my daily countdown without a music video. After that, it just can’t reach a new peak, and stayed most of its chart run outside the top 10 even with a music video out. I am expecting a better sophomore single.

KELLY CLARKSON
"Mr. Know It All"
Days: 60 Peak: 3

After I heard Let Me Down, I expected the same type/vibe of song as the lead single. Although quite disappointed with the lead single, it still did grew on me just enough to finish in the lower 80’s.

SARA BAREILLES
" Uncharted"
Days: 80 Peak: 14
|
After the success of King of Anything in my personal countdown, I actually expected that the second single to have a similar chart run. Unfortunately, it only peaked at #14 but the song’s longevity in my chart (80 days) saved it from landing outside the top 100.

JOE JONAS
" See No More"
Days: 70 Peak: 8
|
Joe Jonas actually impressed me with this track. The video was also astonishingly good. He must be thankful that it is not annoying like Love You Like A Love Song that’s why he finished a little bit higher than that song. But, unlike Selena, this is his last track in the countdown.

BEYONCE
" Best Thing I Never Had"
Days: 66 Peak: 6
|
I actually expected a better run for this song in terms of Billboard and CHR/Pop chart because it is such a good ballad or as most identified it, a mid-tempo track. This may not be as good as Irreplaceable but still enough to let me consider it as one of her better tracks.

ALL STAR WEEKEND
" Not Your Birthday"
Days: 61 Peak: 3

A band that I just discovered early this year. This song is so good that up to now it is still a part of my playlist.

KERI HILSON
" Pretty Girl Rock"
Days: 59 Peak: 2
|
Perfect definition of a late bloomer. This song first stayed outside the top 10 of my chart for several weeks until it eventually reached that zone and even peaked in the runner-up position. I hope this is not Keri’s last solo track to make an impact in the US and Philippine charts.

30 SECONDS TO MARS
" Closer To The Edge"
Days: 63 Peak: 3

One of my favorite tracks from this band. Glad that it somehow made a decent appearance in US Pop radio this year. Expecting greater things from the band in the upcoming years. Their last entry in the top 100 by the way.

COLBIE CAILLAT
" I Do "
Days: 70 Peak: 6
|
Colbie Caillat’s only entry in my list. Very catchy song tapped with a kind of cheesy lyrics. I still like it though, enough to make the top 100.

BRITNEY SPEARS
"Criminal"
Days: 68 Peak: 5
|
Britney Spears’ released a 4th single that was considered “a flop” in the US. I like this song more than Hold It Against Me because of its not really that typical upbeat track from the pop princess. The music video was also cool.
I will be out of town in the next 2 days. Next update will be on the 28th or 29th.
