The week after National Lady Gaga Day in Taiwan, Born This Way sold 6x as many copies as the #2 album (which was The Fame Monster) and sold just less than the rest of the top 20 combined. Those sales margins are unbelievable.
That is the equivalent of the #1 album in the US this week selling 3 million copies and 1.5 million next week.
But no idea on how Gaga's sales in Taiwan would be?
No idea, unfortunately. There was a member on another forum who had access to Taiwanese sales, but they haven't been posted in ages. The stats I use are from the Taiwanese Western Artist Album Chart, but they only show the percentage of total sales each week, rather than the number of albums sold. Because percentages are used, she could be selling hundreds of thousands, or hundreds. We just don't know
