Korean Government puts loads of money into fostering their cultural industry, and tries to export and gain soft power from them. You can't compare a industry with large government involvement to others which don't get the same amount of support.

Btw, except from vivid images and "dance to death" scenes....most of their videos are lack of compelling substance and genuine storytelling.

The only US artists I can remember using choreography in their videos are Ciara, Britney, Cassie, Beyonce, Madonna, Janet, Michael, and J-Lo. I always loved thought they slayed the dancing. But other than that, Koreans are doing a lot better!

K-Pop has all the qualities that made me fall in love with pop in the first place. It's catchy, it's cute, it's clean, it's entertaining, the people are good-looking, the videos are sleek-looking, the choreo *****, the fashion *****, and it's pure, UNPRETENTIOUS fun. Unpretentious, because it is unashamedly manufactured and it doesn't try to be anything that it's not. You don't see the manufactured pop stars in South Korea trying to pose as ~real artistes~ by being credited as main writer for changing one word from a demo and all the other shady **** that western pop stars do. If they get writing credit on a song, it's because they ACTUALLY wrote it.

K-Pop is also more pure than western pop because the artists aren't all trying to be more "SHOCKING" and "EDGY" than the next pop star. Instead, they just get by on their performing ability and showmanship instead of cheap shock value and distracting gimmicks. Basically, I love K-Pop because it brings back the golden age of teen pop that I miss. I still love western pop too, but when the foolishness of it gets to be too much for me to handle, K-Pop is always there for me.

I hope 2NE1 ***** in the USA so even more people can discover what they've been missing.
