Boo, it's not just ATRL it's everyone, the general public included. Firework sold almost a million more than IKAG, despite IKAG having 2 1/2 years on Firework and being a first single. Firework is her most positively critically reviewed song. It got nominated and won more awards. Video of the Year, one of the most prestigious awards, two Grammy noms, and many others. The music video has nearly 260 million view. It's still in the top 100 of Itunes, well over a year after its released. It had much higher airplay peak. It had greater longevity, on the radio, on the Hot 100, and Itunes. Plus, Katy Perry herself considers it her signature hit.
