"The majority of stuff that I'm working now is The xx stuff," he said. "We're just about to start recording. Hopefully we'll get it done in time to be asked to do festivals next year, because that's the most fun."
He went on to speak about the sound of the album and its influences, adding:
We've all come back off tour and [have] kind of been partying a little bit more. So club music has definitely had an influence on the next record.
No official release date, but three years seems good enough. They wiped out everyone and everything with their debut. Can they do it again?
I heard about this a while ago, at least the part about the new album having more of a "club friendly" sound. Their debut is so ****ing good, I still play it to this day without it getting old.
Have you heard the mashup of The xx / Notorious B.I.G.? I'm normally not big on mashups but that album was perfect. Biggie's raps over The xx's productions go together like PB&J.
Get in it. Jamie xx (the producer of Take Care (the song)) is a member of the band. It's him and a female singer I can't remember the name of right now!
