Why can't any of the ghosts move on? Is that even possible?
Why is Moira the only one who can change her age when no one else can?
Where the **** were Vivian and Violet when Ben was being murdered?
WHERE THE **** IS CONSTANCE'S FOURTH CHILD??
What the **** is the infantanta all about? Why was that thing necessary to the story at all?
I can go on if you want.

You know, sometimes you actually have to use your mind and read between the line and connect the dots.
In the "Birth" episode, the psychic explained the story of the house. She says that it's like a battery to the ghosts, since the only thing common between ghosts and humans is the pain and sorrow they have to live on with. She said that the house is full of pain, anger and sorrow that it keeps feeding the spirits to keep going on and on, which makes you come to the conclusion that the only way to free them is to burn the house down. Why the house is a haunted place in the first place? Well, maybe because the story of the Montgomery family. That family was filled with sorrow and agony and with Dr. Charles wickedness and sick ideas, which lead to creating an unnatural baby and his wife murdering him then commenting suicide. These are three acts against humanity which are probably enough to keep the spirits roaming in the house with pain, and so it goes on.
In the 11th episode, Billie senses Tate but doesn't want to encounter him, and she then says it is a "long story", and the story isn't actually told. It got me thinking that Billie is the fourth "normal" child of Constance because she never actually said that Tate was the "normal" one.
Michael might not be the anti-christ but he's definitely not normal. If you haven't been able to notice, that child is evil. A normal 3 years old isn't capable of having a criminal mind of murdering his nanny, and as Billie said, a child birth of a ghost and a human is a perversion of the immaculate conception, "the essence of evil", which is exactly what Michael is.
