Not really surprising - she's the only popstar they seem to like. Along with Beyonce.
That's not entirely true. They trashed The Fame, her HBO special, and recently gave her remix album it's worst review on Metacritic. They've been very critical of her plenty of times.
I loved the kitschy '60s scifi Barbarella feel of the BTW opening.
But then she just prances around in a bikini giving birth to her own head and it fell flat.
The first 3 minutes of that video are sci-fi glory. It's like all of the greatest and worst things that have happened in sci-fi history compressed into a 3 minute legendary intro. I love the actual song part too, though. So strange and unique.
I don't really like Born This Way as a song, but as soon as I realized the video was sci-fi, I was smitten. Wish she had stuck with the sci-fi theme for the whole ea, honestly.
And shame on them for shading Robyn's outfit like that, she skinned the yeti herself to make that top.
8. Lana Del Rey, "Video Games" (Director: Lana Del Rey). This is a song about sacrifice, the things a girl will do for the love of a boy, and Lana Del Rey uses its dreamy video not just to sell her brand of Hollywood sadcore, but to provocatively ruminate on the Dream Factory's callous exploitation of aspiring starlets, even expert self-promoters like herself and the hot mess that is Paz de la Huerta. No wonder David Lynch fell in love with Del Rey. EG
