Album Review:
Finally, the moment you’ve been waiting for, my #1 album for this year clearly belongs to the princess of pop, Britney Spears for Femme Fatale. Now, you can all talk about this amazing album of her! It’s no brainer to guess why Femme Fatale is my #1 album; I truly anticipated her comeback with a new release for this year after a year of being out of the limelight. Britney stated that this album is strong and sexy at the same time; and judging from the tracklist, she is correct. The record starts with the biggest hit of this era for ‘Till The World Ends’. Ke$ha wrote this catchy dance club anthem which I fell in love with instantly after a few listen. The lead single ‘Hold It Against Me’ started the anticipation of her comeback. This gave Britney a #1 debut in the Billboard Hot 100 an charted high everywhere proving that Britney is back. The next track is the break-up song ‘Inside Out’ on which Britney sings “Gonna look my best if we wanna break-up…” The cheeky song ‘I Wanna Go’ is next and boy it took me awhile to love this hit after being announced that this is the 3rd single. The whistle part is one of the highlight of this track. The video helped me to like this song so much as Britney delivered a young, sexy and fun video. The Bloodshy & Avant produced track ‘How I Roll’ follows the list as it can be remembered for its gulping in-and-out breath effect. Britney has some collaboration on this album starting with the irresistible ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful’ which feature rap verses from Sabi. The seductive ‘Sealed With A Kiss’ is next as Britney sings about enjoying being caught flirting with her guy while her other collaboration for ‘Big Fat Bass’ with Will.I.Am follows. This song is crazy and addictive at the same time, though it’s a bit repetitive. One of my personal favorites is ‘Trouble For Me’, a track about a guy who is the life of the party but he’s no good for Britney. The 10th track ‘Trip To Your Heart’ slows down the mood and again Britney sings the sweet seductive lyrics. A potential hit, if it would be released is Gasoline; one word can be best described to this track. Fire! The ballad ‘Criminal’, which is one of the standout tracks of the album, gives a unique sound to Britney’s music. The flute accompanied track talks about a girl who is in love with a bad guy as stated on the lyrics. 4 bonus tracks have been included on Femme Fatale; first is the catchy ‘Up N’ Down; the Darkchild produced track ‘He About To Lose Me’ which talks about love losing its flame; the seductive ‘Selfish’ on which Britney sings that she’s in control tonight; and the rock and roll tune ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’. Femme Fatale is a perfect title for this record, it really describe Britney’s music. So to close it all, Britney Spears takes the top spot for my albums list with Femme Fatale. Bow down!
