No it hasn't. I'm sure you can find the odd positive review (mostly praising the costumes/cinematography), but the movie premiered to booing at film festivals, poor reviews, went back into editing and got pushed from its December Oscar season opening to January. A would-be Oscar contender couldn't do worse. And this is with the backing of a producer like Harvey Weinstein. You can't ask for a better Oscar pimp than that. Just goes to show that in film, you need more raw talent to survive and can't just rely on the backing of your producers
Thing is, with Madonna and movies, some critics love to slam it just for the sake of it.

W.E. is rather better than expected; it's bold, confident and not without amusing moments.

The truth is W.E. is a perfectly fine piece of oneiric cinema.

A lot of people will loathe it, simply because it's been made by Madonna. But if they were to watch it with no knowledge of who directed, they would be pleasantly surprised.
