Katy Perry: Artist of the Year According to Popdust
Katy Perry has recently been named #1 Artist Of 2011 according to pop website Popdust. Other artist in the running were Adele at #2, and Gaga at #3.

I like Katy and I have her album lol, but there is no way that she is the no#1 artist of the year.

That is still arguable while I agree. She was put in the record books for five #1 singles off one album, and while Adele had the biggest selling single, Katy had very successful singles multiple times, and I think she sold nearly as many singles as Adele if not more. Plus, she had a Top Selling album that was released last year. All in all, it was a great year for Katy and arguably the best out of all the pop stars.

Id say that Katy is more successful than Rihanna, gaga, Britney etc. But Adele is untouchable lol.
