Lana Del Rey will bring her retro glamour and quasi-cabaret balladry to Saturday Night Live on January 14th. The singer, who will be making her first television appearance in the United States, will appear alongside host Daniel Radcliffe.
Though Del Rey's debut album, Born to Die, isn't scheduled to hit stores until January 31st, buzz for the singer has hit a fever pitch in recent weeks. She emerged seemingly from out of nowhere earlier this year with a lo-fi video for her song "Video Games," which made her a hot topic on indie blogs. More recently, she played a handful of concerts in New York City and Los Angeles, and her video for "Born to Die" became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter immediately upon leaking to the internet. (Kanye West offered his seal of approval for the video in a tweet over the weekend.)
2012 should be a good year for her. I cant here her music on top 40 though. But, we'll see.
she may not be "POP" but her lyrics are great and melodies are insanely catchy i hope she can make it to american top 40 that would be such a breath of fresh air compared to all of the trash that gets played....
YESSS . This will be her 1st performance on a major program right? I hope she won't be too nervous.
Well, her first performance on a major US program. She's had a lot of practice on a lot of other shows that she's been on, so I hope she wont be too nervous.
