Album: Get Closer Writers: Warren Felder, John M. Maultsby, Daniel "Diggy" Simmons Producer(s): Andrew "Pop" Wansel and Oak
Standout Lyrics
"Aw, Peep my shoe game
Look here, I'm rocking 'em (rock)
Moccasins or go Jeremy Scott on 'em (rock)
Loubotin, look like they got spots on 'em
My ratings is up cause everybody watchin'
And I be V.I.P.
you online where the rope is
Don't come any closer,
You might step on my Cultures"
I first fell in love with Diggy from watching "Run's House" on MTV. Who knew this talented kid would get signed to Atlantic Records so young and attempt to follow in his father's foot steps in the Hip Hop world? Copy, Paste isn't the best song Diggy has released, but in 2011 it's a good song to jam to regardless.
Standout Lyrics
"As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed?
All my windows, still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet"
What a fighter this girl is. She had a rough time these past two years, battling demons and all. Just like Mariah and Britney, she found her way and delivered a great album to signify a true comeback. The song is so powerful and inspirational when you truly taken in the lyrics. BRAVO Miss Lovato and block out the negativity, just like my countdown's theme "LIVE STRONG."
The interesting thing about "Skyscraper" is that the live performances are usually WAY better vocally than the studio recording, but the studio recording has a charm and power to it that the live performances can't match.
Album: Careless World: Rise of The Last King Writers: Michael Stevenson, Jess Jackson, Jason Blaine, Dane Obuchowski, Chris Richardson Producer(s): Jess Jackson
Standout Lyrics
"It's cold putting up a fight
Arguing back and forth through the night
Regardless what I said and I don't most of it
You know I really love you, this the realest goin' get
It take time to realise what you really wanna know
You was ready for it all but your feelings I ignored
I know my fault, I should've gave more
Now you're miles away and I'm miles on tour
Now it's drums playing, crowd singing
Light changing, wish you was here to witness all that
It starts fading
They say two wrongs don't make it right
And I was wrong and now it aint right"
Tyga really impressed me with this son and for him to collaborate with Chris Richardson...GENIUS. Tyga's verses on songs always are on point, but he added an element that is needed in today's musical landscape, a killer hook. I can't help but play this on my iPhone frequently, bobbing my head to the song. Get into it!!!!

Jacob Lattimore - "Nothing On Me"
Album: -- Writers: -- Producer(s): --
Standout Lyrics
"Usually I ain't the one ta brag
I do my 2-step and it takes care all of that
Normally I ain't the one for talking trash
But the music won't let me hold it back"
Jacob is another youngster that made my list. His talent is undeniable when seeing him move and sing and being managed by Larry Rudolph is what opened my eyes to him. Of course most Britney fans know of Larry, seeing as he's the brain child behind the rise of Britney Spears. The track is fast and dance heavy. I don't expect everyone to love it, but it's a pretty good song nonetheless.

Robyn - "Call Your Girlfriend"
Album: Body Talk Writers: Robyn, Alexander Kronlund, Klas Åhlund Producer(s): Klas Åhlund, Billboard
Standout Lyrics
"Tell her not to get upset, second-guessing everything you said and done
And then when she gets upset tell her how you never mean to hurt no one
Then you tell her that the only way her heart will mend is when she learns to love again
And it won't make sense right now but you're still her friend
And then you let her down easy"
I just started getting into Robyn's music. I always heard from ATRLers about her, but never took the time to research her until recently. Pleasantly surprised I am. Body Talk is an amazing Pop album and I can't believe I am just discovering it. "Call Your Girlfriend's" music video was a gem and had me jamming along in my living room every now and then. I got my roomie addicted to her since I discovered her. ATRL really does wonders for opening my eyes to talented musicians. God I love Electro Pop.
