A man can't go to another man and be like: 'damn bro, you look so hot today' -- it just wouldn't sound right.

This is the best answer in the thread. You guys are focusing so much on the
"because it's hotter for a straight guy to see 2 girls making out"
It's not the most important point. The thing is that men are supposed to be masculine in our societies. So, seeing two men together makes people uncomfortable. They don't understand how could a man love another man. It makes them more "feminine" - so it's not natural. But, there's nothing wrong about a girl saying to another girl she's beautiful today, or even being intimate with a girl. It doesn't make her less feminine.
You can judge by reading some religious texts ie : in the Koran, ONLY gay men are sinners and wrong. Nowhere in the book you can find a statement about lesbians. Only gay men. Why? Again, gay behavior is seen as the opposite of the typical masculine men, so it's wrong, not natural.
So, it's not all about straight men finding girls hotter. That's only in Western Countries and with the younger croud tbh.
