That's fair, I thought you were just hating for the sake of hating lol. Jaz tried 'exposing' him so I can see why people would think his story is fake, but he took back his statements.
He definitely grew to have limited subject matter, but albums like Reasonable Doubt, his In My Lifetime volumes, The Blueprint, American Gangster, and other gems on albums have had a lot of subject matter. He doesn't have many problem anymore so even if he did make an album talking to the streets people would still think he was trying to hard. He can't really win both ways.
Plus how do artists like Nas get a pass for being real Hip-Hop when he made albums like Nastradamus and songs like Oochi Wally? It's not like he didn't try doing what Jay did..
