Everything she has put out recently has sounded like a 2006/07 reject from another artist, with the exception of Don't Hold Your Breath, which was still a tad bland, but not horrible. Was anyone really expecting a smash hit?

What do you mean? Everything she's put out except Don't Hold Your Breath sounds contemporary. DHYB sounds like an early 2000s pop song.
