Common sense is my only source. LFN was confirmed at 2.405 million (including remix sales) in mid-September. E.T. sold more than 150k in the two and a half months since then so LFN must have also sold at least that much considering it's newer and higher in airplay.

Not necessarily. LFN was never as popular as E.T. to begin with so its residual sales probably aren't as strong as E.T.'s. My point was that LFN can be rounded more accurately to 3 million than to 2 million.
