Amy Winehouse's father Mitch Winehouse has responded to reports that Lady GaGa will portray his daughter in a biopic.
Over the weekend, Mitch allegedly gave his approval for the 'Judas' singer to play Amy if a biopic should happen. However, Mitch took to his Twitter to clear up the reports.
He wrote: "I never said Lady Gaga will play Amy in film. Also Amy's room not a shrine. Wot a load of rubbish. Mitch (sic)."
A spokesperson for Mitch also told Entertainment Weekly that the family are open to the idea of a biopic about Amy but only ones they know "would tell the truth".
Amy's director boyfriend Reg Traviss recently revealed that he turned down offers to direct a film of her life.
Traviss said: "I guess a biopic is inevitable. I have been asked but I honestly don't think I could do it. I'd be too close to it.
"But whoever does write and direct the film may *exaggerate certain points to make it more 'Hollywood'. The family would want to be involved to make sure that it's done justice. But right now it's all too raw."
