I hate to bring up the comparison that everybody else is already so sick of, but think about the fact that everybody and their mother can relate to "Someone Like You." It's because Adele imbues the song with such a genuine feeling that you can't help but recognize what she's singing about. What does Lana Del Ray honestly make you think about when she sings? Does she transport you anywhere at all?

1. You have to be kidding me.
2. Uh, yes. That's the reason I listen to her on repeat for days. Video Games and Born To Die are some of my most lucid musical listening experiences. Lana Del Rey makes me think about lost love, post-apocalyptic society, the loss of innocence, the death of the American Dream, and the lost concept of the "soulfully honest" tortured star.
