It was Born this way that killed this era (radio wise). Yeah the song broke records everywhere, but that was only due to the hype she created for herself after two years of flawless music. That's why it fell like a rock soon as the hourly spins and novelty (quickly) wore off.
Her new song won't be received by radio anywhere close to the way BTW was, and that's a virtual grantee. She's spent nearly all her capital this era.
