This is Adeles sophomore effort and she wasn't known as a big seller, so her contracts as of "this era" are probably still aimed to put money in her labels pocket. Like was said before, the fact she is on an Indie label more or less guarantees her more per CD sold than most artists on big labels. She also has TOTAL control over the creative process, and this is in her contract. She decides where to record the albums, who to work with, what goes on the album and also what singles are released. Of course, she will never be as rich as the likes of Beyonce because she refuses to get involved in the spin offs to fame like product endorsement, launching her own perfume, clothing range etc but maybe just maybe her concentrating solely on the music is why she's ******** on everyone's faves...
