2006. The Sllloooowww Start
Well - we continue to wait for some of the biggest releases of the year from some of the biggest names in music....and its almost April. FYI, Nelly Furtado just pushed her album back an entire month (May to June 20), and Paris most likely will be pushing her June release back now that she has decided to record tracks with the pimps who won an Academy Award this year.
Supposedly Christina Aguilera's album is dropping in June, but for some reason I am still skepticle on whether or not that will happen. Kelis and Nick Lachey's albums are slated for release in May, but both of their singles aren't doing as well as expected - so I wouldn't be suprised if they push another single before the albums get released. Britney MAY be pregnant and it looks like she wants some more time throughout the summer to experiment with her new sound - so an early 2007 release seems more realistic. Janet Jacksons new Jermaine Dupri produced album was supposed to be done last summer - but we have yet to hear any new information on the status of this project.
The jury is still out with what Vanessa Carlton, Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore,JC Chavez, and Brandy are up to. Their albums are supposed to surfice sometime later this year (late fall - early winter), though early January release dates may be the result.
But hey! - Pink's new album is out next week! The Max Martin tracks are freakin amazing - as always.

Actually, Nick Lachey's single is doing really well. It has a big bullet.

I agree with you. Nothing has come out since 2006 started. I haven't bought a new cd that came out in 2006 yet. Pink will be the first. It's been so slow, I have to buy old cds that came out in 2003/2002, such has Beyonce or Outkast. I'm going to get Justin Timberlake eventually, but they were all sold out at Best Buy. I'm looking forward to new cds this year.

I actually have to strongly disagree with you trublue. Sometimes it's not about the biggest releases, but about the quality of them. Look at James Blunt for instance...
I'd go into bigger detail, but I forgot

Question to all, Would you rather have a big release album or a quality album?

Of course quality...but it's so, so frustrating when a good album bombs. I love to see stuff I like do well. I could care less if something I dislike bombs. I hate seeing something that is awful do really well *coughMariahcough*

You're a f---ing comedian. Want a cookie?
Anyway, I'm loving the success of Ne-yo's "In My Own Words", James Blunt's "Back To Bedlam", and Mary J. Blige's "The Breakthrough". I can care less that some supposed "big" albums have yet to be released.
Trueblue83, since when were Paris Hilton, Nick Lachey, and Kelis such hot musical properties ?_? No one even expected any hits to come from Lachey or Kelis. But surprisingly, Lachey was able to bring out a hit, something you seem to be oblivious to. Also, out of the albums you mentioned, the only true big ones will be Janet and Nelly F's albums. Oh and lets not forget, Pop isn't the only fomat. I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about.

Um, Brian? Ne-Yo and James Blunt will NEVER, mark my words NEVER be considered "quality." That is just sickening. I <3 you, but you should be ashamed.
But you appreciate the queen, so

I LOVE how no one has mentioned, oh, say, Pearl Jam, Tool or Red Hot Chili Peppers yet. Yeah, they won't do well at all.

RHCH is just months away.
But in the pop scene we've had:
-Teddy Geiger (Hasn't been that big, but noteworthy)
-Rihanna's SOS (Huge)
-Mariah's Don't Forget About Us (Huge for a while, then dropped away rather quickly)
-Beyonce "Check On it" (Huge)
-All American Reject's "Move Along" (Huge for me, not so big everywhere else.)
-Pink's Stupid Girls (Regular-sized hit...kinda forgettable, but her new LP is coming out, so that'll change things)
and
- Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" (Big, and getting bigger)

You really do misinterpret obvious sarcasm lol.
The fact that you don't like even like R&B (or at least appear not to) makes your opinion on TEOM irrelevant. It was of no importance to bring it up out of the blue. It made you seem bitter...
