A friend introduced me to this song at the beginning of the year, and it was love at first listen. It was different from everything else on the radio at the time. It has an insanely catchy beat, and Alexandra's vocals are flawless.

This song is in no way a "new" song, but it was finally officially released this year. I was a huge Ke$ha stan last year, and this was always one of my most played unreleased tracks. It's similar to many of her other songs and isn't really anything special, but it's addicting. Kudos to Ke$ha for including it on her remix album.

The queen of country made a comeback this year after a very painful divorce. While there were far too many self-esteem anthems released this year, Shania went ahead and made one anyway. "Today Is Your Day" is a cute song and definitely deserved to be more successful than it was. She wrote and produced it herself.

Sabi burst onto the music scene this year with features on songs by Britney Spears, Cobra Starship and New Boyz. While I didn't really care for her collaborations, I was surprised by how talented she is as a solo artist. "Goodnight" is top 40 material; something I could see Nicki Minaj releasing. It has a catchy hook and beat.

Oh Land is the total package: beautiful, stylish, talented and creative. "Sun Of A Gun" is an amazing piece of electronic dance music. It's been a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine all year. It's a shame that it wasn't the smash hit that it deserved to be.

I did not just listen to every YouTube link in this thread (even the songs I already liked).

Anyway, nice countdown so far, Dale! I already knew and love Wynter and Skylar, but I had heard of the other three artists and never really looked into them. Natalia, Zowie and Florrie are now on my map and I will look further into them.

I liked Natalia's music the most out of the three artists, more specifically "Wonderland".

As for the songs, there were four songs I hadn't heard in full before, but I'm now glad that I've heard them! I was the most impressed with "Today is Your Day" and "Sun of a Gun", as I wasn't really expecting anything from them. Your music taste is so diverse and quite excellent, and I can't wait for the rest of the countdown!
