FF was not her best work, so I don't see any harm. Out of curiosity, what do you think of Circus?

I was surprised that people disliked it when I went into critical reviews.
It's easily my favorite Britney album, and it's only got two songs that I don't really like that much (Unusual You and Blur)
I found Femme Fatale to be my third least favorite (I dislike BOMT the most, and Britney the second most). My rankings are probably Circus>Blackout>>>In The Zone>>>>Oops>>>>>>>Femme Fatale>>Britney>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BOMT
EDIT: Right now I'm jamming to Shattered Glass

I'm delegating you to the massive list of honorable mentions
It's a pretty awesome list tbh, you'd be among greats like Kisuke, MrPeanut, etc.
There are just too many people here whom I enjoy to put into a list

I'm glad it's at the top, but someday we'll have to discuss your rating of Britney so low.

Don't make me spam your wall with reasons why it's her best. Duca and I are not afraid to.

Let's get this **** started again. Songs!
Quote:
Blow - Ke$ha
This song will be one of two from 2010 on my list. They both had 2011 single releases, so I think it's fair to keep it on my list. As Tyler, The Creator would say: "If you disagree, suck a couple pimple-covered dicks"
Anyway, I thought I needed some Ke$ha on my list this year, and for good reason; she's actually pretty damn good. She gets a lot of hate around here, and I don't know why. She's isn't trying to make high-art, she's simply making party music. And with that in mind, Blow is one of the best party songs of the year. The song is loud, brash, and in your face. The auto-tune flirts with excess, the lyrics are useless, and the beat is spastic. However, it all works, and it contributes to the excessive party lifestyle that we all wish we could live. On top of all of this, this song is ****ing wicked live. I was a little too drunk to appreciate it, but based on my dancing on top of my seat and nearly crashing into an 11 year old girl, I had a good time with it. And really, that's all I can ask out of Ke$ha's music.
This is Ke$ha's only appearance on my Best Of. Expect more on my Best Of next year.

Like I said, I'll be putting a ton of Ke$ha next year most likely. If I had a 2010 Best Of, the top 10 would have at least 3 Ke$ha songs

Speaking of Auto-Tune...

I Wanna Go - Britney Spears
When we heard the 30 second preview back in February, this song nearly instantly hooked me. It was catchy, it was flirty, and it was a perfect summer song. Needless to say, when we got it in March it quickly became one of my most played that month, and it still sits at an impressive 66 plays.
Anyway, this song is wicked cute. Delusional people would say that it's all about her desire to break out of the shell that she's been forced into by her megalomaniac father, but I just read it as a working girl who wants to go out to a bar on a Friday night. The beat is infectious (although it sounds like a lesser-known remix of I Kissed A Girl, and I'll have to make a thread about that soon), and it's very danceable. All in all, a successful Britney single (why wasn't it the lead though?)
This is Britney's first appearance in my Best Of.

Speaking of the Trinity...
Quote:
Party (feat. Andre 3000) - Beyonce
"Drippin Swagu" - Kanye West. An immortal line is born.
This song took forever to win me over. I was pissed the **** off when I first heard it. "You work with Andre 3000 and this is what you give me Beyonce? You best get your **** together before I return this album, bitch" I'd say to my iTunes whenever it came on.
Around mid-August, I listened to it on a whim and I suddenly found myself in love with it. I loved Bey's vocals, I was dying when I heard Andre's verse, and I was excited for the trailer park video with Kelly.
Now I'm in a very good position on the spectrum of love for Party. I'm not obsessed, but I can appreciate the 90s throwback feel, Kanye's amazing production, and Andre's flawless verse. J. Who? 4 is nearly flawless, and Party is easily one of the standout tracks.
This is Beyonce's first appearance on my Best Of. Sats you best keep it cute about its position on the countdown

This next song has nothing to do with Party.

Sandwitches (feat. Hodgy Beats) - Tyler, The Creator
This is probably the most controversial of Tyler's tracks. "Let's buy guns and kill those kids with dads and moms" and "We ain't taking no ****, like Ellen Degeneres' ****oris is playin with dick" are two stand out lines in the first verse. That's usually as far as I get before I burst into fits of laughter
Anyway, this is another quality track on one of the best rap albums of the year. The high pitched chorus of "Wolf Gang, Wolf Gang, Golf Wang" is pretty interesting to listen to, and the aforementioned "suck a couple pimple covered dicks" is bound to go down in history as the best thing ever said. On a final note, the beat is a little bit basic, but the snare drum is still fine I suppose. Meh, it doesn't matter, Tyler's still making me laugh.
This is Tyler, The Creator's second appearance on my Best Of.

We'll take a break from songs and move onto my #8 album
Quote:
21 - Adele
OVER****INGHYPED
Ok now that I have that out of the way, I can actually talk about this album. It's a damn good album, and it's going to be a part of the cultural pantheon I'm sure. Adele's "woman scorned" role is as big as her voice, and it drives the album forward constantly.
Unfortunately, it suffers from the same thing Femme Fatale did. The lows of the album are too low for my liking. tracks 6-10 are hardly 5/10 songs for me. She's lucky that there are so many 10/10 tracks, otherwise she'd hardly be as high as she is.
Anyway, the songs that are good on this album are spectacular. The first 5 and SLY are amazing examples of how far one's voice can carry a track, and how bittersweet heartbreak can be.
For 23, she better work on keeping the good tracks coming, and leaving the mediocre ones on the cutting room floor.
This is Adele's first appearance on my Best Of.

Back to songs (we're gonna alternate, keep up with it)
Quote:
Hold You Down - Childish Gambino
I wasn't sure how I felt about this song. It's a personal one for Glover for sure, but I wasn't sure if I found it boring or not.
However, when I was on an empty bus a few days after listening to the album like crazy, I started quietly singing his falsetto "Why in the **** these *****s, tryna hold me doooowwnnnn, whooooaaa" chorus to myself.
In the end, it's the personal stories that make this song (and Camp as a whole) so excellent. Glover's insight into his rough past is something beautiful, and you'll notice me repeating that a lot during his entries on my list. I just wish this song had a bit more than a piano driven beat.
Oh well, still ****ing awesome.
This is Childish Gambino's first appearance on my Best Of. He's here quite a bit, don't worry ****y.

Time for my #8 movie. I know some of you stan for it
Quote:
Hanna
People who know me personally know how much I adore Joe Wright. Pride & Prejudice, and Atonement are among my favorite movies of all time, and I find The Soloist at least bearable.
Hanna gave me Joe Wright's amazing eye for a shot, while giving me a balls-to-the-wall action thriller that simply doesn't let up until the final frame of the film. Ronan and Bana's acting is top notch, and Blanchett is an adequate replacement for Tilda Swinton (let's be honest, that's who they wanted in Blanchett's role).
All in all, an excellent action movie that won me over easily (and they usually don't)

Back to my flawless song list
Quote:
Til Death - Wynter Gordon
Wynter has been piquing my interest for a long while, and when she released her second single off of With The Music I Die, I was getting pretty close to stanning.
Til Death is an excellent slice of electropop, and further cements Wynter Gordon as one of the best new acts of 2011. The spastic instrumental combined with Wynter's surprisingly decent vocals make for yet another delicious party anthem for 2011. I'm pretty crazy about this song, and about Wynter. Maybe you should be too.
This is Wynter's first appearance on my Best Of.
